Pre-Kindergarten Program
4-5 Years
Students who turn four after September 1, are not eligible for the state’s VPK program. Therefore these children enter our 4 year old preschool classes. Our teachers offer a very robust curriculum, focusing on all of the skills necessary to further your child’s academic career, while keeping everything fun. Students learn to work with shapes, colors, letters and all kinds of other material. Coursework also includes phonics and math as students develop throughout the year.
Free Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Class
Students who turn 4 before September 1st
A free prekindergarten program is available to any child turning four years old by September 1st through the Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program. Wellington Preschool & Preparatory School is a certified center designated for participation in Florida’s Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program (VPK). The VPK program is a statewide effort to enhance the educational readiness for students entering kindergarten. The curriculum focuses on reading, writing, and social skills to prepare children for kindergarten. Wellington Preschool maintains the required teacher-to-student ratio of no higher than 1 to 11 students and all VPK instructors have at least a child development associates degree or a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. VPK emergent literacy training is also required for all of our instructors. VPK is offered during the school year or during the summer.
We offer a structured curriculum to prepare our students for kindergarten. Our curriculum exposes students to a multitude of learning experiences through monthly themes that actively engage each student to gain the skills and knowledge needed to excel. Our curriculum focuses on language arts, math, science and a strong phonics-based program. Wellington Preschool & Preparatory School provides each student with the opportunity to develop their cognitive, social emotional, linguistic and creative abilities. Further, there are in-house events and an end-of-year memorable graduation ceremony.
We offer three full-time VPK classes:
- Dual Language (Spanish / English) 9:00am - 3:00pm
- Advanced Academics (Discovery) 9:00am - 3:00pm
- Traditional 9:00am - 3:00pm
We offer three free VPK sessions:
- Morning Sessions 8:30am – 11:30am and 9:00am - 12:00pm
For additional academic and fun time, we also provide school day and extended day sessions.
